4 thieves oil is a blend of essential oils with anti-bacterial properties. Folklore states that it originates from the days of the Plague, and was the herbal blend robbers preferred to allow them to touch people or handle bodies without becoming ill.
Whether true or not, there is modern evidence the blend is anti-bacterial, and given its history, it also goes well with any luck, healing, or protection magic you may wish to do.
